THE 306 USES A SET OF CAMS TO CHANGE THE STITCH PATTERN. IT IS LIKE THE 319 BUT WITH LESS PATTERN CHOICES.

The front of the 319 looks similar to the 306. These were referred to as a "swing needle" not a zigzag. Be aware that it takes the same needles as the 206, (206X13). The standard Singer needles will strike the bobbin case. Interchangeability of bobbin cases between the 319 and 306 is questionable.

The stitch levers in combination with cams provide a wide variety of stitches.
